Jacksonville’s Premier Pool Deck Resurfacing Experts

Pool deck resurfacing new

Don't tear out your ugly, chipping pool deck; restore it for a brand new look.

Is your concrete pool deck coating cracking, chipping, or sounding hollow when you walk on it? If simple patching is no longer enough, a full pool deck resurfacing is the answer. Proudly serving Jacksonville, Mandarin, The Beaches, Orange Park, and all of Northeast Florida.

Pool Deck Resurfacing vs. Patching

We are happy to provide expert patching services for localized damage. However, when your existing pool deck coating is failing, is already full of patches, or simple patching just isn't enough anymore, resurfacing provides a complete overhaul. We strip the deck down and apply a brand-new "Spray Deck" textured overlay. This gives you a flawless, slip-resistant, and cool-to-the-touch surface.

Our 7-Step Resurfacing Process

  • Inspection & Grinding: We examine the entire deck, grinding off the existing failing texture, whether it’s an old coating or painted on.
  • Crack Patching & Washing: We open up and patch any existing cracks, then thoroughly wash the surface to ensure a completely clean slate.
  • The Skim Coat: We apply a cementitious material skim coat to fill imperfections and create a smooth, level base across the entire deck.
  • The Bonding Agent: We spray a specialized liquid bonding agent over the skim coat. While some contractors skip this, we do it to guarantee maximum adhesion. We also mix this bonding agent directly into the skim coat and the spray deck material itself to help it stick even more.
  • The "Spray Deck" Application: We spray a premium, cementitious-based material over the entire surface of your pool deck.
  • The "Knockdown" Texture: Before it dries, we use a trowel to "knock down" the material, flattening the peaks. This creates that classic, slip-resistant texture that stays cool under bare feet.
  • Final Sealing: We let the new surface cure. Then, we return to apply a high-quality pool deck sealer that contains your chosen color. This sealer protects your deck from UV rays, salt, and pool chemicals, and makes it much easier to clean off algae and dirt.

Honest Expectations & Maintenance

We believe in straight talk. Our resurfacing process will make your pool deck look absolutely brand new. However, concrete is a rigid material sitting on top of Florida soil, which naturally shifts and settles. While we professionally patch all existing cracks before applying the new surface, no contractor can guarantee that structural cracks will never telegraph back through.

To keep your new surface looking its best and to protect the sealer, proper maintenance is key. We highly recommend having your pool deck professionally washed once or twice a year.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is typically a multi-day process, and the exact timeline depends entirely on the size of the job. Grinding a large deck can take a day or two on its own. Washing and patching takes a day, the skim coat takes a day, and the spray deck application takes a day. Finally, the protective sealer (which often requires two coats) takes another day or two. We don't rush the process because each layer needs proper time to cure.

No. The "knockdown" texture creates a slightly varied surface that provides excellent grip for wet, bare feet. If you are still worried about it being slippery, we can also add a special non-slip additive directly into the final sealer for extra peace of mind.
